Today, I was appointed Privatdozent at Ulm University after finishing my habilitation in experimental physics with a talk on “How to take a picture of a black hole”. In my thesis I present recent advances in beamsplitter techniques for massive matter waves. A large part of this success is due to the constant support from my two mentors, Wolfgang Schleich and Kai Bongs.
